Just 20 minutes from the gîte, the Savière canal winds for almost 4 km from Portout to Chanaz, where a lock unique in Savoie enables navigation on the Upper Rhône. A romantic setting par excellence with a hushed atmosphere, it attracts many boaters. Visit Chanaz, a charming village with a medieval feel.

10 minutes from the cottage, the Marais de Lavours is a national nature reserve. A path on stilts more than a kilometer long allows you to discover exceptional natural environments.

5 minutes from the Manoir, the church of Vieu is one of the oldest in Valromey. Its open porch is built with the reuse of Roman columns. Indeed, this church was built on the site of a temple which was dedicated to the god Mithra.

It's THE famous stage of the Tour de France, a great challenge for cyclists.

10 minutes from the gîte, the Sugar Loaf waterfall is a waterfall located in Poisieu in the Ain department. The site is very popular for walks. Fed by the Brize, the fall is located at the bottom of a natural limestone circus.

An impressive waterfall 5 minutes away sixty meters high, overlooking the hamlet of Cerveyrieu in the commune of Artemare.

A path leads to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the waterfall, where you can see Artemare, the southern Bugey and the Dent du Chat...

30 minutes from the Manor, you can practice all your winter leisure activities here (skiing, snowshoeing, biathlon, dog sledding...) and summer (mountain biking, road biking, hiking, orienteering, roller skiing , rollerblading, go-karts, electric scooters, etc.).

The Retord chapel is located in the hamlet of Vézeronce on the Retord plateau in the Ain department.

Departing from the gîte, a pretty hike for young and old in the forest with an exceptional panorama of the Valley. Follow the Chemin de Parnaud route: nature interpretation trail to learn about the village's wine-growing past, beautiful dry stone walls, typical stairs leading to the vineyards.

La Fruitière du Valromey is the story of a wonderful human adventure in the heart of the Valromey region, bringing together 14 farms driven by a passion for their trade and their region.

The largest natural lake in France at eighteen kilometres long, Lac du Bourget is surrounded by the massif de l'Epine, Mont du Chat, La Chambotte, Mont Revard and the Bauges mountains. This lake offers water sports and bathing pleasures in water that can reach 26°C in summer.

A little haven of peace that only the locals take the time to discover, this little beach is a great place to relax next to Lac de Barterand. It's a pretty little pebble beach, and in August it's very pleasant (27 degrees!). Free parking available and access to the beach at a charge of EUR 2 per adult.

The Groin spring, located in the commune of Vieu en Valromey, is one of the most splendid and enigmatic sites in France. The Groin is a twenty-metre-deep chasm that may look harmless when empty, but can become a veritable river.

Situated in an exceptional setting, on the shores of Lac du Bourget and at the foot of Mont du Chat, the abbey houses the tombs of the thousand-year-old dynasty of the House of Savoy.

The Puits des Tines is a waterfall on the Séran and a picturesque site located in the commune of Champagne-en-Valromey - near the hamlet of Lilignod - in the Ain département in France.
